Mr. Johnson has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary projects and collaborative research between Nanofiber Solutions and world-class research institutions, such as the Mayo Clinic, Karolinska Institute and UCLA, in addition to numerous existing collaborators at Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. His education includes a minor in biomedical engineering in addition to his degrees in materials science and engineering, and he has completed the Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (TEC) program through the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. The TEC program focuses on taking a technology from the idea phase up through the commercialization phase. Mr. Johnson also led the team that won first place ($95,000 in cash and in-kind services) in the 2009 Deloitte Business Plan Competition, further building and demonstrating his ability to construct a timeline, prepare budgets, and lead and direct a team.

Throughout his academic career, Mr. Johnson has been working closely with the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Ohio State on electrospinning for state-of-the-art cell culture applications as his Ph.D. topic, and he has served as PI on numerous NIH and NSF grants. This project will be a multidisciplinary team effort, and he is surrounded by seasoned scientists to help guide and direct this project to a successful outcome.
